Genise Young is a member of the Rooted in Dignity Care Team, bringing hands-on social work and caregiving experience to the families we serve.

She currently works as a Social Worker at Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness, an Illinois-based nonprofit that provides integrated healthcare, behavioral health, and community-based support services to children and families across the state, and previously spent several years providing direct, in-home care to elderly clients — experience that grounds her deep commitment to dignity, comfort, and compassionate support at every stage of life. Genise holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Grambling State University (2025) and is pursuing her Master of Social Work at the University of Illinois Chicago’s Jane Addams College of Social Work, with a field placement beginning this fall at CVS High School in Chicago. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals and families with empathy, patience, and respect.
